Can anybody give me a link to the videos of the breed judging at Westminster.   I can get onto the website and to what should bring up the Basset judging, except it doesn't!!

I have now been able to access the Basset judging vid.    Not that I was THAT impressed to be honest.   Two were lame including the WD.   And why do handlers over there insist in putting the lead /collar right up behind the ears which makes the poor hound shake it's head continually when on the move.   I don't remember it being that bad when I was showing in N.America.   But I liked to show mine on a loose lead!!

In my breed all the dogs were champions so it was a bit sort of pointless as they chose the BOB, Best Opposite sex, two Selects (one of each sex), and One Award of Merit, and some left the ring, but no dogs were really placed in order of merit.

Does anyone know how they choose Select and AOM and wht do they mean, and why can they give several of the same award.

I'd have to Google (which you can do!) but all these extra awards make me laugh.   And then there's Grand Champion too   None of this was going on when we lived in Canada, although Canada isn't America!

All entries at Westminster used to be Champions of one sort or another.   Only recently have then introduced a non-champion class, and in Bassets, there was just the one entry (who again was lame!).   And it was the same last year - just the one non-Champion entry.    For a 'big show' Westminster certainly is no Crufts!!!
