Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / rescue dog - trained as a hunt dog?
- By guest [gb] Date 16.02.03 22:04 UTC
i have acquired a rescue terrier and a couple of months of ago.. he seemed fine but is now exhibiting many uncontrollable/unwanted traits.. i am beginning to think that he has been trained for use on a farm and in hunting how can I find out?

Seems unlikely. Very few people hunt with terriers and any working dog which is any good at it's job would not be in rescue I would have thought.

I have to differ a bit John....lots of people hunt with terriers, I can think of 6 in my nearest village alone!!
Having said that, I doubt if any would end up in rescue though...these people tend to know how to look after their dogs. Can you not find out from the rescue centre the situation as to why your terrier was rehomed?

Hi Guest,
Unfortunately this could be why he was with Rescue - the uncontrollable/unwanted traits that his previous owners couldn't/wouldn't cure?

It's probably just doing "Terrier" things !
Dawn.
