Hi everyone,

My bitch is currently on day 61, she has been around 37.8 - 38.0 since I started taking her temp with only slight a couple of drops that don't last very long.

Today her temp has been lower than usual..

I took her temp at 6 this morning and she was normal. However when I took it at 4 her temp was 37.3, she has gone up to 37.5 now and has been there since 4.30.

Is this something normal? does this mean she may have "the drop" tonight? or should I be worried?

She's had a litter before (3 years ago) and it was pretty spot on with temp which is why I've been doing it this time. However last time she had them on day 59 so I guess I'm a bit concerned that she's now day 61. (I know they don't always do what we'd like them to!)

The temperature will fluctuate during the final week or so, but it's usually when it goes down, and stays down, that you can expect whelping to begin soon.   I tend only to use the temperature as a guide, not a given.   Patience my friend - the apple won't fall until it's ripe.   Good luck!
