Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Grooming table and Stand dryer maintenance

Don't say 'it's easy, just do it yourself' because I'm hopeless with this sort of thing! My stand dryers are fine but could do with a little maintenance eg cleaning filters. But the main problem is my hydraulic foot pump table, it's very old (got it 2nd hand about 10 years ago) and about 5 years ago a friend put some jack oil in somewhere, but that's about all the poor thing has ever had. The hydraulics need more oil or need something, it only pumps up about a millimetre at a time which as you can imagine takes a very long time, luckily I don't often need to change the height much! How do I find someone who will come to the house and give everything a quick going over and put more oil in the table please??

Might you get the contact you need if you speak to a local groomer - presumably a groomer would need regular maintenance of their equipment?

I am the local groomer! :-D I don't know any others in the surrounding villages apart from Pets at Home in Bury. :-(

Just sent you a PM with 4 local groomers, all closer than Bury
I'm sure there are a few more but can't think of them at moment.

Thanks, but I'm after grooming maintenance. I can ask them if that's what you mean, but I daresay they do their own because most people do! I might give Dezynadogs a ring some time.

You said you didn't know any locals to ask hence the list

> I daresay they do their own

In that case, would they, for a fee, come and do your's?

Ah I see, wasn't quite sure what you were getting at. Yes it might be worth asking. Somehow feels more feeble to ask a fellow (unknown) groomer than to just ask a proper company though. :-D

Aww - go on, ask.   People like to be asked - it makes them feel important

Where are you? I have an hydraulic unit refurbished they did a brilliant job you can take it or send If you phone Simpsons who sell grooming equipment and they will be able to give you there number if in the meantime I find it I will let you have it. I also brought a Simpson superjet drying second hand and wanted it check over they did it while I waited and it was worth the trip you can also send that by courier they are very helpful. Didn't notice if you put what make yours is you could also phone the company and see if they will help.

I shudder to think how much it would cost to send my table somewhere, it weighs a ton! I'm in Suffolk.

I took the motor off mine if yours is a hydraulic one which pumps up (not electric) you could do the same and send it by courier they are very quick on turn around. I took the dryer of the stand Simpsons are up your way. What make are your dryers?

The dryers are both Supajets I think, I can just about manage the cleaning on them if pushed, I was just hoping that someone could come to the house and do all three things at once. If I was clever enough to take a hydraulic motor off the table, I would probably know where to put the oil in the first place haha! I'll get it sorted out some day....
