Topic Other Boards / Foo / How to get more involved in breed?

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone could give me advice on how to get more involved within my breed group, etc.? I am a member of the LMC, am active in showing and junior handling and my mum is a KC assured breeder. However I feel like I could be more involved within the breed. How? Thanks

Offer to help at club shows, this may lead to you being proposed for a committee place, or co-opted to a sub committee, as clubs need people willing to take on the work involved in running the club.

Also if you mean more deeply involved in your breed then ask to go on judges/breeder training scheme

i spent 27yr involed in heavy horse breds
i become member spent time with my papa clients when we were their showing horses i would ask.advice and listen very carfuly.after the horses were shoed the clients would get me to.walk and trot horses up and down tell me how to handle and what judge looks for i than went in to young handlers i would handle all ages of heavy horse then got intrested in driving again spending time with diff breeds and going to bred shows all round uk.ireland
i got my own horses but still worked for diff people i turned pro handler and groom
best advice i can give is ask advice .listen and watch as much showing as u can also try and handle diff breds of gundog
i have been showing gundog bred for 5yrs as i had to give up working with.heavys
wish you best of luck
