I live on Exmoor and generally our ticks are a nuisance from Spring through to end of Autumn. So far this is a very mild winter here. That said I haven't had ticks on my animals for a couple of months. I didn't actually have much of a problem with them at all this year. They are more likely to be around I suppose as it so mild.

Still finding some each week after walking on the New Forest. It is too mild to kill the damn things.

So far so good re ticks, but I saw one of my two wriggling on his btm the other day and thought this MUST be anal glands.   Later that evening I spotted A FLEA.    Mid -December here in SW UK and we have FLEAS still?    It's incredibly mild, and wet, and I suppose we have to get used to all this Climate Change with all it brings!!!

Out with the Capstar and mega laundering/vacuuming, again.

ps   Both had fleas during the middle of Summer, but I sorted all that out.   Now we are back to square one..... and I will be watching out for ticks.   We are on the coast, but one of the fields a bit inland has sheep in it at the moment which means it's highly possible for us to get ticks..........

It has been mild and we have found ticks on our cats. Both ticks and fleas can lay dormant in carpets and other areas of the home. We are getting daffodils in our garden and that shows how warm it is at the moment. I can't believe it was 14 degrees on Christmas day. A decent article here on fleas and ticks http://snugglezzz.com/blogs/news/69610885-fleas-and-ticks-advice-for-pet-owners
