New to all this never posted befor this is her second litter and I woke to her already having 2 pup with her last so didn't see any sign of labour what should I look for thanks she had last litter at 59 days and was 8 pups she really big so thought she might have these one early she hasent eaten a lot of her food yesterday or her biscuits today will see what she does when she has her t later on just wanted some really people to tell me some sign I can look out for thanks

If you have had a litter before, you really should know what to look for - just as you really should be sleeping in the room where your bitch is from shortly before her anticipated due date. There would be nesting for starters, and once in full labour, obvious strong contractions, pushing hard. Some go by a temperature drop and it staying down meaning whelping should start within 24 - 48 hours. I tend to go more by the number of days from the first mating, although conception may not have taken place immediately. No two pregnancies are the same however so even if she whelped 'early' by some bitches, doesn't mean she'll do the same with this litter.

I almost screamed that out when I read the post. And not knowing that you sleep with your bitch when a litter has already been bred. Has the OP ever read TBOTB?
Fisher, would you recognise inertia? You should read up on these things before you mate a bitch.

First time mums quite often show very little signs but things may be different this time. You need to keep a very close eye on her and I wouldn't be leaving her at all. You need to be sleeping in the same room too. I am assuming you didn't progesterone test, so she could have them any day now. Are you taking her temp? It's crucial that you recognise the signs of something not going to plan as well as the onset of labour. I would use the few days you have left doing as much reading as you can. Good luck

Don't beat yourself up about not realising first time. Some of mine have nearly caught me out and I have bred 13 litters. The signs with these bitches were very subtle.... They were all four days early (going from their ovulation date) and all they did was shiver slightly for an hour or two before starting, one or two of them ate breakfast as normal. Others have had first stage labour of several days so it is very easy to be caught out.
Temp taking is unreliable unless you take it several times a day which sounds like will stress you and your bitch I would watch for a shivering or shaking, looser stools, refusing food, vomiting and that worried look in their eye... That's always a reliable sign for me. If you really need to leave her make sure heat pad/ lamp is on in case she pops one out when you're gone but I would try not to leave her if I could. Good luck.
