My 5 year old bitch [gundog breed] is 29 days post mating and I am unsure if she has caught or not? She went to the stud dog on day 11/12 of her season and she was keen to mate and they tied. Due to other circumstances we were unable to return for another go a few days later. This will be her 2nd litter and to be honest I'm struggling to see signs via her nipples and her vulva doesn't seem overly larger than normal. She has been ravenously hungry (hard to tell I know as she's a Lab ) almost to the point of frenzy though. She's also very clingy and quite lethargic. There are no signs of a swelly belly either, other than she's a little plumper than normal but that could be due to not allowing her to charge around chasing a tennis ball on our walks. I have cut her exercise down a little as she just seemed so tired and I haven't increased her food at all as I wouldn't normally do that until week 6.

I'm reluctant to have her scanned as she hates going to the vets, it stresses her out quite a lot and they charge £70 for the privilege.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Get a pet scanner to come to your home, she probably won't mind that. Otherwise it'll just be a case of wait and see I guess!

Yeah I may well look into that. The waiting is killing me.
