When does everyone give the first vaccine....just before mating or after?

I gave it a few days before mating, at the same time as a blood progesterone was performed to save me another trip back if bloods came back ready (which they did).

I usually give first vaccine approx 7 days post mating

My bitch missed twice so the repro vet said give it as soon as she comes into season, so a few days in I did and then she had it a week before she was due to whelp
