My ipad memory is almost full, photos mainly. Can anyone tell me if there's a way of increasing the memory? I deleted apps I don't use too often and also old emails messages etc so all the non essential guff has gone, but the photos left are the ones I want to keep. My son keeps wittering on about the cloud but, being old fashioned, I sort of don't trust it to save them. I like to have something if can hold.

I have exactly the same problem. I've de-apped, deleted emails, cut down on the photos etc, but still only have a bit of memory left. Haven't updated to the latest update as its so large. What I have noticed when examining the usage of the memory is that the mail program seems to be very heavy on memory usage despite having virtually no emails on it. I checked the usage of memory of the mail program with that used on my hubbies newer ipad and his uses much, much less. Don't know why.

I think we've scared it....... For the first time ever I have had an email alerting me to your reply!! But it is annoying, for a laptop you can buy an external hard drive (??) with massive memory, but not with iPad. That I know of!

As far as I know all that can be done is to upgrade to a newer one with more memory, at great expense of course. Can't even send it back to Apple and get them to put more memory in or anything.
However, still love the thing to bits, so much so I recently bought an iPhone mainly to stop myself stamping on the so called smart phone I had previously.

Hi you can back up and trust the cloud! Also you can use kodak's online photo album too i prefer the cloud. Only way to add memory for I pad buy another and transfer photo's. I chose a Samsung as I could add a memory card!  If I don't lose it!
Try the cloud thou it's very good
