If he had a stud book number he could still contest it though.

If DNA were done yes they'd have to pay, regardless of outcome, someone has to and I don't see the KC footing the bill, but in this case no-one can make the guy do DNA, especially as it would harm his case.

Interesting about the stud book number.
Clearly this isn't a dog which has proved his worth either in the show ring or the working field. Does make me wonder why he's so much in demand, and why this stud owner is - allegedly - defrauding others.

The OP states that apparently the stud dog owner has done this previously,if so he needs to be reported.

I agree and said this before, to the breed clubs and the KC, and I still think small claims action applies.

Maybe I've missed something, but I do wonder if the dog used WAS actually the dog that the bitches owner thought they were using, and this is why the stud owner is playing silly b*****s
