My bitch levels taken 10am yesterday were 25.5. Advised to mate Friday. Problem is I can only use the dog tonight as tomorrow he is away all day showing and doesn't return until Saturday evening.

Should a mating tonight be OK?

Why no mate tonight then first thing Sunday morning?? If you are deffo using that stud then I would say that's your best option :)

For a natural mating with fertile male I would try tonIght and see if the bitch will stand, if so semen is likely to live long enough to attain pregnacy. Would try again Sunday if possible

When my bitch had a reading of 26 I was told mate ASAP. She was mated that afternoon and then the following 2 days. From the scan it shows she took on the first mating.

Well mating was good last night......no messing about....my bitch presented herself immediately to the dog and we got a 20 minute tie.

I spoke with idexx and they said Sunday would be a waisted journey.
