Hi our pup is a serious chewing machine and he's not picking up the correct biting rules from our adult Rottweiler,I've got some videos to watch that another member sent me.....but if anyone has brought up a male rottie pup with a bad attitude then please get in touch with ideas, cheers

He hasn't a bad attitude that is how puppies play, nothing to do with a bad attitude, and of course baby teeth are like hyperdermics.

If your bitch is of good nature she will let him know when eh goes too far, for her, but that will still be harder than for humans.

Read the bite stop articles I posted..

I agree with Brainless, it is nothing to do with attitude.  It is what all puppies do, whatever the breed.  Follow Dr Ian Dunbar's advice and you will be rewarded.

IMPORTANT.  It is imperative that all people in the household do the same thing.  It is very important that you are persistent.  It is important to be patient.  There is no such thing as overnight success.  It takes time.

As others have said this is completely normal puppy behaviour, it's important you teach your pup to be gentle before you start to teach no biting.

This article is the one we always share, it really works and is very simple.

Chaumsong -  I love that article - not seen it before.
I've had it in the back of my mind I should be moving on with the mouthing.

My pup is 7months not weeks and still mouths. He is considerably smaller than BoristheRottie (actually probably the same size in real time lol).
He only seems to mouth me, but I live alone and don't have many visitors - outside doesn't seem to be a problem.  He's very gentle with me,  but does still grab my clothes when very excited.
Sorry for going on but that article IS simple and a big help.
I've just one question:  I know maturity differs with the size of the dog, does this apply equally to mental maturity?  My pup seems more puppyish than my other, bigger dogs have at the same age or am I letting his small size and infinitely playful nature fool me?

Well at 7 months your pup is still very much a pup, mental maturity can come anytime between a year and 3 years depending on breed - or never in some breeds  In general terms smaller dogs do tend to mature faster than bigger dogs - both physically and mentally but of course there are always exceptions
