I just noticed on facebook - one of those 'sponsored' bits that come up.........

Child Accident helpline...its your duty as a parent to claim if your child has an accident............ one of those no-win no fee vultures

What the **** is this country coming to. Kids have accidents they are Accidental, they happen, its part of growing up and weighing up risks.
Come back common sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gosh.........my boys primary school must owe me a fortune then, all the bumps and bruises from playground mishaps...... (probably still got those accident slips in with my boys school things somewhere)..........if it's 'my duty' where's the dotted line?

Tongue out of cheek for a minute............ sadly some parent, somewhere, probably will. The world is going mad, soon everywhere will be closed due to no money to run anything, due to payouts every which way.

This is disgraceful but sadly I see no end to the compensation culture. We need some kind of legislation preventing these companies perpetuating the blame/claim bandwagon. I witnessed a car crash a while ago. I was stationary at lights with a refuse truck in front of me. A car travelling in the opposite direction came through the lights ,suddenly lost control and plunged sidelong into the truck. I got out ,as did the truck drivers , removed keys from ignition of badly damaged car and assisted passengers out of the car. When the emergency services arrived, the driver and passengers were checked thoroughly , including for whiplash ( I'm a nurse and stayed around to help) and I gave witness statement , address details etc. Months later a got a letter from the solicitors representing the truck company. Wouldyabelieveit ???!!! The driver of the car was trying to shift the blame onto the truck driver ( stationary at lights ) and claim for whiplash. The truck company needed my supporting evidence, which I gave.
I'm in Hungary at the moment. We've brought over clothing and footwear to help in the refugee crisis.  All this has been generously donated by people in UK. Puts the greedy compensation vultures to shame.

Sadly this is another import from USA.  As, as a society, we become more self-centered/preservational and profit oriented this is likely to become the norm.
