Now that I've got my automatic car at last (thanks for all your suggestions!) I need advice on what to do about leaving dogs in the car as it has an alarm. I obviously don't leave them for long but just for the odd occasion...
I have a Renault Scenic and there are very complicated instructions on how to stop the alarm each time you leave the car (lots of button pressing!) but is there an easier way, and preferably a way that means I don't have to do it every time? What does everyone else do?
I have the same car and my alarm hasn't gone off on the very few times I have left her for a very short time. She sits on the front seats and desperately looks out of the windows for me. The only time the alarm went off was when my DD locked herself in the car from the inside with the dog.
I have a button to disarm the internal sensors..it needs to be done every time I want to lock the doors and leave dogs inside... .have you read the manual?
Our motorhome is built on a Renault van chassis (front part looks like the van) and when leaving the dog in the MH we just double click on the key fob. Hope that works for you, we had a car which meant a certain button had to be pressed in a particular way each time we left a dog in the car. Forgot to do it a few times.
bestdogs....I have a Yeti and I always use the key fob and double click, I had no idea there was a button inside, could you tell me where I would find it? I do have a manual but,... well maybe it's just me, but it might as well be in a foreign language!
I do have a manual but it just gives very confusing diagrams - I think I have to press the start button 5 times in succession, but surely there must be an easier way! Bestsdogs, I tried pressing the lock button twice but it just closed the windows! Thanks for all your comments!
That sounds a bit of a faff Jan! I go on a Skoda Yeti forum and the guys on there have helped me to find my way around my car's little foibles. Maybe you could find a forum for your car?
