Hi,
I just got a new shelter dog Lab mix, 3 yrs. old. She had roundworms, the vet checked for them doing a fecal exam. After the initial dose, there were 4 inch roundworms in her first stool, however I haven't seen anymore since.
Sent her home, after spaying (shelter insisted ) and vaccinating with the worm medicine (Panacur)10 cc once day for 5 days.
I felt the spaying could wait, because she is very underweight, and her nipples show she has just weaned a litter of puppies.
With all of these health concerns, she is alert, and full of energy!
I asked the vet to access her health, and maybe wait to spay her until after I put some weight on her, but he felt she was healthy enough
to go ahead with the spay.

My concern is since I have been worming her, 3 days now, she coughs and coughs up a little bit of vomit that is just stomach acid, about the size of a quarter most of the time she is just having a dry cough. Not real bad, just every once in a while.

Is this normal?
Thanks!
P.S. I am calling the vet today to ask them, just to be on the safe side.

We don't inject Panacur 10% in the UK.  It is given orally.

In an adult Panacur is a single dose.  1ml per kg for the 10% liquid.

Coughing could be the result of the tube in the throat during the operation, but should only be a day or two.

Are you in a heartworm area, is she heartworm negative? as of course coughing could be a caused by this.
