My 5 year old lab has always had a bit of a dry nose on top unlike my other two (different breeds). It's never been any problem. She's just had her head on my lap and I've noticed she's got quite a deep crack radiating out of her nostril. It doesn't look infected but you can see the crack is quite deep. She's not rubbing it or anything, looks like it could be a bit sore though.

As its Saturday afternoon, it wouldn't count as an emergency but we go on holiday on Monday and they have to go into kennels for the first time ever. I've had dogs 25 years and never been away without them :( What would you do? Is there anything over the counter I could get to put on it? Panic!

If desperate I would use Vaseline,helps my Labs dry noses during the working season.

Calendula cream very good. I think you can get it from Boots as well.
