Can I ask how many breeders are testing for EIC
I would be interested in how many are testing & are people are still breeding none working dogs that are carries ?

Carriers should continue to be used (to a clear mate) so as not to narrow the gene pool.

Yes, I am have tested all our bitches we breed from and only put them to a clear dog to keep it out of our lines.

I do agree with Brainless however and think the DNA tests should be used a 'tool' to keep good dogs in the gene pool but make sure any carriers are put to clear dogs only and future owners informed their pups could be carriers and should be tested before bred from
