I've not had a dog with it but I think that it is maintained with lubricating eye drops to try to prevent the bumps popping and ulcerating - if it progresses to the extent where ulcers are appearing the treatment obviously changes to include antibiotics drops or eye gels as well as lubricant - only in extreme cases where ulcers are bad and reoccurring constantly does surgery become an option.
You should check with your vet that its okay for your dog depending on what is going on with the eyes at the time but a general good moisturiser for eyes to help prevent problems is Clinitas Soothe drops - its a good preventative to problems if you put it in before each walk to keep the eye moisturised and reduce the chance of grit getting in eye and causing any ulcers or bursting of the liquid bumps.
That's the only things I know about it - hopefully someone who has been through it will be on to give more specific help.
