Topic Dog Boards / Showing / I have an idea
- By vinya Date 09.07.15 21:48 UTC
I was thinking today that I hate to throw my Dog papers away. so what if people who get the dog papers take them to shows and put them in a stand or rack, where anyone can read them? I would be happy to take my papers to a show for others to read or have rather than put in the bin. just a thought

Or take them to your vets for their waiting room, might even educate people on the canine world (well maybe not so good an idea when they cover KC shenanigans).

I'm not sure exactly what papers you mean here?    I'd not take any official registration papers to be available to the Public - or whether they'd be remotely interested to be honesty.   I still have a file with ALL my hounds paperwork, photos for I/D, shot cards etc.etc. going back to our first in 1972.   I do wonder why I keep them, but just can't throw them away.

I also have boxes in the garage stuffed with show ribbons and rosettes along with more solid trophies (keepers) we have won over the years.   And then there's all my KCSB Records going back to the 1930s.   All 'stuff' that having no kids and little to no connection to the show world (most of those I used to know have now passed away in any case) will have to be dumped eventually.   Sad to consider.

At one point I started a collection of Basset-cards which I still have.   And then there's my collection of figurines!!!

On the other hand, perhaps 'dog papers' means Dog World/Our Dogs???????

She means the canine weeklies

I think she means dog world/out dogs :P

That's such a good idea! I get dog world but sometimes critiques are only in our dogs ;( So would be a great chance to get them from previous editions :)

Just to suggest you may have a friend with, or expecting a litter, who may welcome some extra newspaper - much as as I recall, the dog press tend to have ink that transfer to puppy legs!!   And the bigger sheets are better.
