my pup who is 9 months and female has a very bad urine infection. She was tested and I am still awaiting some results, however the vet did say she has calcium phosphate in her sample (with mircoscopic stones starting) and is likely to be on a special diet for the foreseeable future. They have also said to encourage her drinking water...but she's not a big drinker. Even today one of the warmest so far her water bowl was still nearly full. She is being excluded from the other dogs so,I can monitor her drinking.
Is there anything safe I can add to,her water to encourage her to,drink more and dilute her urine?

I would suggest making a chicken broth and offering that diluted. Just chicken water and veg nothing else.

Might not be great with the calcium problem - but my bitch only drinks water at home. So when we go away I add a bit of milk (to a small amount of water otherwise she could gulp down the whole lot!). It think just the smell and colour change works well.

If she is dry fed, add water to her food.

A drop of milk in water works for mine too.

When mine had kidney problems mine would always have a drink from one of the travel bottle where the water does in a narrow trough as he wouldn't drink from his bowl. He would take the occasional drink from bowls outside.
