Daughter was lucky in the ballot and got two tickets, she's now having issues with work getting the day off but still wants me to go but with her dad instead, yippee. Thought I'd do the right thing by phoning the ticket office to check this was ok, after all she is my daughter.
short answer NO. This can't be done, have said I can send in birth certificate etc to prove we are mother daughter but NO, she has to send tickets back and get refund. The only way was if we live in the same house but stupidly I said no we didn't. Then realised I am on her mortgage with her so rang back and the kind lady spoke to supervisor and the answer still NO as I'm not on the electoral role (told the truth again!)

Wish I had just lied but thats not me or my daughter and we didn't want for me to turn up without her and be refused entry.

Whats the point of trying to be honest these days, and not cheating systems, is there no reward for honesty. I offered to write in and post all proof of me being her mother, of me being on the mortgage of her house  but still we got NO.
I can understand the rules of not selling tickets on and gaining a fortune but this is simply within the family and with full proof to prove it.

No where does it say in the info to bring ID so might just go and try, but the lady I spoke to now knows the tickets and dates and name so may put a warning on the gate so when tickets are scanned it will flash up 'check ID'

Train tickets for the two of us are £93 return so a lot to lose if we get there and can't get in.

Need lessons in telling lies.

Oh no! Not brought Wimbledon tickets however we went to Harry Potter Tour two weeks ago and they asked for id!  Husband had to produce driving license. We we're lucky to get Rugby world cup tickets again in my name and will ask for Id. Not sure if they will have marked your tickets with a warning thou? Guess either your daughter have to throw a "sickie!" Dougie if asked for day off as holiday and like you we cannot "fib". If you sold them back to Wimbledon do you get first dibs on re sale?

Did it say on the harry Potter tickets you have to bring ID?

If they give her fund they just go back into the ballot and it will be whoever gets drawn out, they won't sell to me.

Cant believe that they're not prepared to accept anything to prove the tickets are only going to me her mother, who was going with her in the first place, why in some circumstances are people not rewarded for being honest and doing the right thing! plus this would save time of doing a refund and re issuing tickets etc at this busy time of all the prep for next week.

It does say on the tickets yes for HP. I suppose the majority who are law abiding, honest and respectful have to pay for the minority who thieve, make false claims and feel they have a given right to do as they please brigade.
I hope a colleague of your daughters might swop a holiday day with her so she can go with you.

Mentioned this to my hubby as we've got tickets for Thursday. He's usually pretty law abiding, but said that if it was him, he would just get a credit card off your daughter so in the extremely unlikely case that they asked for ID (which you are not required to bring) you would just say 'I haven't got any but here's a credit card). It's not like you have bought the tickets off her or something! And it's incredibly unlikely that they'll have any sort of note on the tickets. I think you should go for it!

It's tempting to do that! I'd hate to go all that way and then be turned away, it's a catch 22 situation. Guess I'd still have to be honest I just can't fib for toffee and I'd feel guilty and awful.
I hope it's sorted for you.

I would fing out if they actually do a check at the gate, if not, then i would do as someone has already suggested,  take ID from your daughter and just brazen it out,

P.S... just had a look on the official site, no mention of showing ID, also had a look round the net anf on one forum, this question came up,  no one  seems to have ever been asked to show ID,

Hope you had a terrific day at Wimbledon and had no problems with ID.
Just had a text from my GP surgery asking me to provide photo ID as I'm registered with their on line service! I've used this service for the last 2 years had to get forms from reception, on line ID with address shown. So why? On earth now do they need photo ID! My GP knows what I look like I visited them twice this month because they stopped letting me order some of my repeat prescriptions on line due to you need to see the GP now each month! Awwwww!

brilliant day thank you, no problems getting in, they just tear off the ticket stub! no scanning but I guess they do this once stubs are collected to see how many are actually in the grounds.
Just a shame the ticket office lady couldn't have been a little more less rigid but hey ho. I took a mountain of stuff such as letter from my daughter, utility bill and even her work ID (we look the same) and in the end needed nothing. Sods law if I hadn't bothered with all that I would have needed it.

Its madness how they bring these things in when its been going for years without it but I suppose they've been caught out and one person has abused the system spoiling for everyone else.
