Has anyone got any tips for firming up stools in the situation where the dogs are getting very loose stools when excited but normally have nice firm stools?
My dogs are fed a good quality wheat and gluten free dry food, at home (in the garden) they have normal firm stools, no problems.
But when they get excited some of them are becoming really loose. The excitement is normally because we are on a walk or they are at agility. At the beginning of the walk they can have a normal poo but after a little while they get really loose and try to poo multiple times (say 4/5 times in an hour walk, obviously tiny little bits). It makes it very hard to pick up after them when they are producing tiny little puddles of poo! I've tried making them go at home first but it doesn't stop them!
Sorry for the subject matter just wondering if anyone's dogs have done something similar!

Hi sorry none of mine have done this the human elements in household thou does! Only time one of my pets had "Jimmy tummy" due to the car but only in their first six months. I'm sure you will get some excellent tips here
My boy only ever does poos on his morning walk at least 2 normally 3 has been 6. They get gradually softer the later they come out. I think its just to do with how long the food is in the digestive tract. Not everything is absorbed before they poo it out. Which is why puppies who are given too much food often have loose poos as they have to get rid of it before its fully digested and the next lot comes in.

My vet used to say that it was "excitable colitis". One of my girls is exactly the same. I try to kick dry earth over it or "stick and flick" when this happens.
Ha ha, I tend to 'stick & flick' it as well :/
Thanks everyone!
