Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / What to feed when bitch won't eat dog food?

My little foster dog is still pregnant! I took her to my own vet and after a thorough examination, ultrasound, x-rays decided she was only due early this coming week! When I told her owner she admitted a mating could have happened quite a few days later than she thought  But I'm a lot more relaxed and confident with my vet now looking after her. He and I have successfully been through many pregnancies and I trust him.
But my problem now is she's getting so picky about food, has such a small appetite and won't eat any dog food! This is really frustrating me because of her earlier poor nutrition. I really want to make sure she gets the best possible now to make up, but she's not making it easy for me  Any suggestions? I've been lucky that mine have always been happy with mostly a good quality dog food so haven't had to deal with this before.

Still use a good quality dry food but try to make it more interesting for her, mash in boiled eggs or scrambled eggs with a bit of natural yoghurt, if there are cooking juices left over from a roast (be mindful with what it's been seasoned with) use that to add flavour.

Some women when pregnant can find certain food smells and tasts intolerable when pregnant even if they have enjoyed it before, your bitch is probably feeling a little delicate.
