Hi there, my name is Jess and I'm new to showing (and this forum)
I'm a dog trainer and based in Newcastle upon Tyne, I have a beautiful Akita named Lexi The Looker or Lexi to me! She's a 4 year old rescue, but fortunately came with full pedigree papers, we aren't yet in ringcraft classes and are struggling to find any that except akitas!
We have entered some companion shows and a kc one getting Reserve best in breed

I am also trying to trace her family and breeder
I can give Info out on her tree
Breeders Mr TW Ross and Miss G Stevenson

Will be so grateful for any help
Jess

If you get yourself a MyKC account, you can get some further information. (Go to http://www.mykc.org.uk and sign up ) I was able to look up right now that your dog's parents had a second litter a year later, same two parents. The father has sired 4 litters in total. You can find the names of the dogs in question, but unfortunately not names of breeders or owners. I do get the impression this was a pet bred dog (i.e. bred by somebody not into showing or similar) as none of the dogs have kennel names, and also the fact that neither parent has been health tested. Also it would be rare for most breeders to repeat a mating at all, let alone do it just a year later. So that makes it more difficult to find the breeders as there is no kennel name to search for.  But you might be able to get somewhere by Googling the KC registered names of the littermates and younger siblings -it's a start anyway.

When you got the papers, had the registration been transferred to the previous owner from the breeders? If not, if the dog was still registered in the breeders' names, then you should have had their address on the registration certificate.

Oh if you use facebook there is a useful group called "Newbies to showing' https://www.facebook.com/groups/638203939523898/

As for ringcraft I have never met one that didn't accept all breeds unless they were a toy breed or breed specific club.

There is a ringcraft in New Hartley on a Tuesday evening 7:15 until 8:45. I've just started going back after a few years break and it is a lovely friendly group :)
