Last night I noticed that the TH has a black waxy substance between her toes. It's like the earwax she used to get. It wasn't smelly as I caught it early. I cleaned it all up with antiseptic wipes, dried it off and used a little Thornit. Tonight I plan to clip the fur between her toes, to stop any "warm damp place" type build up.

Question is. Am I taking the right approach, or am I going off on the wrong track. None of the other dogs have it and I've never had a dog with it before. There were no cuts, nicks and it was between virtually every toe.

I don't want to go to the vets for (another :D ) false alarm.

I would just keep a close eye on it. I think you've done all you can at the mo - but watch and see if it re-appears. Was it on just one paw or them all? If you manage to control it then fine - if it comes back, gets smelly or causes discomfort I'd take that trip to you know where;)

Sorry can't offer any advice but sounds like you are doing the right thing.
