Hi, what age can you clean the pups from. I've got a litter that is 9 days old and one of the pups has dried blood all over her from where she went under her Mum in the early days. Mum obviously hasn't got it off and I'm not too sure at what age I could give her a little wash to clean her up and then what to use. I'm pretty certain it's going to take a bit to get it off. Thanks for any advice.

Thanks Brainless. At how many days would you attempt to clean her up.

I often run tepid water from the tap on mucky pups and dry well with clean paper towel.I find my girls hate the taste of baby wipes on their pups.

Oh right. Ok Thank you Toolz. Is it alright to do at 10 days old.

In a nice warm room and if you dry well, Id happily wash a 10 day old puppy with warm water. In the case of very poopy pups I wash as required.
If the puppy is small, premmie or not thriving too well Id leave it until it was more robust ...but normal pups..no problem.

Thanks very much for your help. I gave her a wash and she looked so much better. Would you believe it....I had just put her back, nice and dry. Turned my back for a couple of seconds and that was all it took for another of the pups to poop and nearly all of the litter to roll in it and drag it around the box. I nearly died at the mess. they were all this lovely bright yellow colour. So had to start again and clean all of them up. Mum was having a toilet break at the time. Thankfully it hasn't happened since.

Some litters can be pretty poopy on and off. Mum usually catches it before we see it but if pups are loose it can get everywhere.
