Well Done Suffolk Police!

Suffolk stolen dogs returned in covert car park exchange

"A family paid a hooded stranger for the return of their two stolen spaniels in a covert exchange that was like "something out of a crime movie". Ruby and Skye were taken from their Holton St Mary home on Easter Sunday. Their owners, the Pearce family, gave the man "several hundred pounds" for their "traumatised" dogs in a car park on Saturday after offering a "substantial" reward.

Suffolk Police confirmed an investigation was under way.

Officers have also made an arrest after the family was earlier duped by a blackmailer who claimed to have their dogs. The Police said a man had been arrested "outside of the county in connection with an alleged blackmail offence and the investigation is on-going"."

I am so very happy for these people that they got their dogs back, I hate to think what their fates may have been.

It is disgusting that they have had to pay someone to get their own property back.

At least the blackmailer, who did not have the dogs is being sorted by the Police, I really hope the police have some luck in finding the thieves, they must be the luckiest dogs alive to have found their way home, goodness knows what those poor people had to pay....hope it rots a hole in that mans pocket.

I bet the owners can hardly believe that they have the dogs back.  I know, if it was me, I would be hugging them to bits.  When you are a dog lover yourself, you really feel for folk when something like this happens.

I always feel a lump in my throat when you see ads from people still hoping to find a dog, many, many months after it has disappeared.  The not knowing would be awful.

I often think how wonderful it must be to be the person who actually finds the dogs and reunites them with their owner.  I´m not at all sure that I would be able to accept any reward for that.  I think seeing the rightful owners´ faces would be enough for me.  Of course, having said that, it could well be that owners are so delighted to have their pets back that they absolutely insist on giving the reward.
