I've read some posts recently and also in the past where incidents have occurred and posters have replied with ideas of revenge and tit for tat response ideas which actually break the law.
This is not a good idea and I really don't believe that this forum is the best place to be advising such actions. To recommend someone break the law is outrageous and also why lower yourself to such actions anyway?

I just wanted to highlight this area and that really we should all be looking to uphold the law and not incite others to break it.

I agree, in most cases I think the ideas are tongue in cheek, but this needs to be made clear.

It was definitely a tongue in cheek comment from me, not meant to be taken seriously, and I'm positive the original post by Jean was meant to be taken that way too - certainly wasn't meant to either offend anyone reading or in any way suggest that anyone break the law by acting on a throw away comment. I can see that it was silly in retrospect considering the later post which I definitely hadn't anticipated and certainly didn't find funny in the slightest, nor agree with.  I've worked in criminal law all my working life - I have never broken any law and would hate to think that any throw away comment could cause others to feel I was either encouraging or condoning anyone doing so.

Maybe they were but the last poster before me on the most recent thread didn't come across that way at all. Then again that poster is a always controversial however a lot which that person puts I find not at all useful or I find that their comments promote harm or breaches of the law.. Sadly my comments were edited on that thread by a moderator.

Just been in the other thread and seen the madness going on in there this evening - how can your comments be moderated but the vile comments being made by that ....person.. remain? I'm not entirely sure that guy/poster is entirely sane.

Many thanks tinar.  While I am amazed that people who know me appear to believe my post was serious, a newcomer immediately picked up on my sarcasm - which is my sense of humour entirely.  And I'm glad that it didn't offend you tinar.  I found it funny and light hearted.  And most definitely tongue in cheek.

Not being funny, but I thought that these days a forum owner/operator is now ultimately responsible for the content on his/her forum..... and therefore should make sure nobody posts anything that could be construed as illegal, harassing, offensive, or could be seen as incitement to commit a crime?

If anyone's kept screenshots from the past when ONE certain member on here has harassed, offended and defamed other members, then the question WILL arise as to why they are still here, and not banned.

I hope that doesn't refer to me.

> ONE certain member on here has harassed, offended and defamed other members,

I don't have a clue to whom this refers but will say that, although I log in daily I must have missed this one.  Why does everyone know except me?
