In the past I have always had working type springers and great fun they were too! This time round however I have a show type springer dog called Flynn who will be 15 months at the end of this month. He's still great fun but definitely much less 'manic' and doesn't require to be kept 'busy' 100% of the time. he's much softer though and does follow me around from room to room but settles when he gets there. I decided to go for the show lines this time as I wanted to spend more time in the house due to being knackered after years of exercising working types!! :D

I have two - gamekeeper bred - springers. One is so laid back and always has been from day one and the youngest is more active although still not the "mad" springer stereotype. Love them to bits although would describe them as "mud magnets" this time of year!!

I have an english springer spaniel called Harvey, he is 18 weeks old and our first ESS, although my husband had a cocker spaniel as a child. He has fitted in really well with the family and loves the children, especially my 6 yr old daughter, so we are really happy with our choice of breed.

I have a 7(nearly 8) year old working type springer. She's VERY laid back and I've never had a problem with her. They are a lovely breed.

My darling spinger's name is Lucy, she is a single minded, little darling totally obsesed with tennis balls and plastic bottles, when I walk her down by the canal she drifts of into her own little world desperatly searching for the ultimate plastic bottle, which she fishes out of the canal, she will carry it around only dropping it if she finds a better bottle, then she carries it all the way home until we reach the front door then she drops it runs into the garden looking for her tennis balls.
She is one of the pretteist little dogs I have ever seen.

Hi
I have a springer called Jess, she is 7 1/2 going on 3. She has been run over by a bread van and had all her back foot crushed, she didnt loose her foot but lost a toe,and the other 3 toes are all twisted, this dosnt stop her from doing any thing though, i have made her a boot to wear when she goes shooting so her foot dosnt get sore. Torn her side on a barbed wire fence and had to have stitches in but pulled them out within 2 hrs, had her ligaments trapped in her front leg, had hundreds of thorn pulled out from her body, need i go on, and oh yes she thinks she is human. She is a working dog loves hunting, has a terrier for company, loves the kids and the cat, lives in the house and insists on sleeping on my pillow, she even sits up to the table when we eat. She is one in a million.
