Topic Dog Boards / Health / Can I use Savlon on my dog?

The WFT was spayed last Wednesday and although she is her usual feisty boisterous self she will not leave the wound alone, licking and biting it.  Could I put something like Savlon on it do you think?  I know I could put her in a buster collar but I know she would go berserk in one!  Any ideas?

I have used Savalon & E45 cream on mine to no ill effect.

Fleur ended up wearing a large t shirt as she was scratching with her back legs as much as licking. Her back legs were through the armholes and her tail through the neck then I fastened it across the front of her chest with a shoe lace. The vet advised calendular cream as she was a bit sore where she had had a dressing but both dogs were trying to lick it off.

The collar is the way to go.  Like it or not I would not entertain her licking that wound any longer.  She will eventually open it up.

Sophie is sporting a red Xmas Tshirt at the moment which seems to be doing the trick!
