
As a breeder I breed in the hopes that at least some of the litter if good enough will have some impact on the breeds gene pool in this country (we are a minority breed here with few puppies born each year).
I still prefer not to enter into any breeding terms arrangement, as they often cause friction between the parties if one or other feels the agreement has not been fulfilled/suited them.
I always sell outright (with non breeding endorsement), and hope that the new owners become interested enough to show and perhaps allow use of their boy at stud, or breed a litter from their bitch with my support.
I have on several occasions (including my last litter) sold the most promising pup to people who were keen to show, who in the end did not, even didn't transfer pup to their names, very disappointing for me, but imagine the bad feeling if I had entered into 'breeding terms' arrangements and the owners were not prepared to fulfil them???
