Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Crufts - Lovely Flat Coat!
- By snowflake [gb] Date 06.03.15 09:05 UTC
I loved the Flat Coat who won Best in Group last night.  Gorgeous looks and related to Jet who took BIS 2 years ago.  Still, they were all lovely - Judge must have had a hard task choosing.

I picked him out for the group when I watched the group judging.

Wasn't he gorgeous! I was as ever rooting for the Yankee, but I liked all the placed group winners. Wasn't keen on the Labrador which again looked fat to me, though not as much as the one that won a couple of years ago, and the Goldie looked rather more than solid too.

He was lovely and has the same sire, who won veteran to my Brooke :) yes I thought the lab was podgy

Yes I too thought the lab looked somewhat overweight!!!

So glad it wasn't just me who thought the Labrador and Golden Retriever were on the chubby side :fat:

No to me also, the Labrador seemed fat, certainly wouldn't let one of mine get that heavy, even though my breed easily can.

Phew, I'm glad others agreed with me!!

I picked that Malamute right from the start, yay!! :-D

I really liked the BSD Laekenois, and would have really liked for such a rare breed to place.

I won't say what I thought of the GSD, well if it was on performance on the move there were better dogs to choose from

I didn't like the way the handler pulled the poor boxers head about by her face-poor thing! Even if it didn't hurt it certainly didn't look very nice and not something id ever dream of doing.

A very serious contender for BIS, i think :)

No, neither will I!
Great minds think alike.

Then nor will I - but I think it was the same!!

Very nice Scottie (though the handling left a lot to be desired!) and Flattie, but I must admit I had rather lost my heart to the Saluki and the Maltese. :-)

Just think JH will have a field day with that GSD

Quite right too. I'd like to see that competing in Working trials.

I had GSDs for over thirty years doing obedience, working trials and agility but finally came to the conclusion that very few were fit to work. Many years ago I slightly new the GSD man on the BBC programme and when he said that how GSDs are today is how they are meant to be it was the finish for me and the bitch I had then was the last. I would have changed to the Belgians much sooner but several I met had bad temperaments and so I waited until I knew where to get good ones.

On that note I just loved the Laeknois in the group at Crufts

Belatedly I must say that although the breed is not really my thing,  I thought the Maltese was absolutely stunning - I thought it would win!!  What grooming must have been done and the dog showed beautifully.

Sure did have fun and I liked it too, problem is only the judge knows what's under the coat in these all enveloping coats, so we can't fully appreciate them.  Liked the Beardie too, and the Saluki :)
