OK, I'm curious; a lot of people (and regular posters at that) are clearly upset at the way aspects of the forum have been handled lately, particularly the PM system.
How many people think they will actually leave CD if the PMs are not reinstated soon? If you would then can you please upvote this post and/or comment YES (or NO and not upvote!)
I don't want to start another debate and get the post removed or anything, I'm genuinely curious if it is a vocal minority or if the vast amount of silent members feel the same. :-)
xx
OOPS, I just spotted that there is actually a 'poll' option that I couldn't find before, but I don't think I can remove this post so I guess Ill leave it as it is!!

Where did you find the poll option, 'cos I couldn't find it either, and still can't. I think a poll would be a VERY good idea.
at hte bottom of my screen when I look at this thread there is an option market 'poll' Im not sure if it will add it to this thread or a separate one though!

For me, it doesn't matter whether the PMs are reinstated or not.
The problem is much wider than that and the damage has been done.

Fair enough. I think the options could have been better worded but its the best I could think of at the time! :-)

Dill
I agree.
I used to think that CD was an ambassador for the ethical breeders as I had thought that the business side was about if you advertise a stud dog or puppies that CD would only agree to advertise if they produced evidence of the breed health test requirements.
Would Mark like to clarify this please as I think it would defintely help as I think this may have changed recently ?
I and a number of other breeders were under the same impression Dill until recently when we queried with Champdogs admin. Litters with incomplete health tests for the breed, are showing Parents Health Tested. If the breeder leaves of a particular health test off their advert then Champdogs still show Parents health tested in red.
Misleading for puppy buyers as they will not be able to distinguish between those breeders who ensure all health tests for the breed have been done, from those breeders who have not fully tested or used a stud dog with incomplete or out of date test results.
Those of us who are aware of this are now advising puppy buyers, to be aware when looking for puppies.
Afraid it is a case now of BUYER BEWARE ! as you can know longer assume that evidence of health tests will have been submitted to Champdogs.

Saw that too. Should say partially tested ;-)
Or nothing at all until all tests have been done

I think it is always going to be buyer beware as even the KC will advertise puppies that have parents with no health tests at all they make no distinction in those adverts other then assured or not and we all know how much that can mean in real terms.

I agree that Champdogs was a cut above the rest including the KC As all litters had to be from fully health-tested parents. This does seem to be slipping now. I see in my breed the only pups advertised are born in Poland and imported into the country. They are advertised as being NON ENDORSED as they are all breeding showing quality, This is a totally false statement as non of these pups have had any health testing done as they are too young. This is a dropping of standards. I will watch what happens but if the standards continue to drop I will seriously consider not renewing my membership. I do not advertise pups on her as have no need to but I do get some enquiries from time to time. However I have continued to be a member in order to promote good breeding. If CD drops its standards to the point where non or part health tested litters are advertised or indeed stud dogs without full health-testing promoted then I shall have to leave as I would not want to be a part of yet another "Puppies for sale" web site. The forum has always been know for its at times, hard hitting, but good advice from breeders with many, many years of experience between them. Sometimes posters are not happy with the advice given but should the experienced breeders lower their standards in order to make this site into yet another fluffy puppy forum. Please Admin/owners return this site to what is once was, The No 1 stop for great advice and true , if at times difficult, advice for those who have lower standards and in reality are bordering on being BYB's.

Champdogs standards are slipping. Such a shame
