Topic Dog Boards / Health / Vomiting when out for a walk

A few months back out on a walk Lucas vomited twice, thought at the time he'd eaten something, more often than not eaten greens when the right 'salad' is available, especially goose grass (cleavers). Then in the last few weeks he's done it again, 3/4 times, always had the odd treat when out & about, his recall for a Basset is great but have always made it worth his while even if he just runs, OK strolls:roll: back to see me. Aged 11, he's raw fed twice a day, 7ish & 5pm, never exercised less than two hours after food, brings up bile,  treats & grass if he's eaten any. He's not done this in the past, perhaps being over concerned because of his age & no haven't discussed with his vet yet. Any ideas?

Only just seen this, sorry. My elderly dog will still bring up bile occasionally if he's not eaten enough. He's fed after his morning walk around 8am and then again at 7pm. The vet said that going from 7pm-8am between meals was too long for him so now he always has a very small supper before bed, just a couple of biscuits.

Give a tiny bit of protein first thing in the morning to occupy the gastric juices or the acidity builds up and they vomit.
A small cube of cheese or cocktail sausage should stop this.
