My girl will be 4 weeks pregnant this friday if she has taken and is trembling really badly.We live in a very old cottage and with the weather being so cold i just thought she was too but with the heating on she is still trembling and today i noticed she is drinking a lot too.I have called my vet and am taking her there in the morning but im so worried,an ideas what it could be? She is still eating well,infact she is obsessed with food at the moment and acts like she is starving which of course she isnt and is still full of energy but something just isnt right.

Trembling could be a sign of infection,  that's the first thing that comes to mind. Can you take her temperature? 3 to 4 weeks after mating there is a possibility of pyo

Excessive drinking is also a sign of pyo

I would have wanted an emergency appointment today.

Kenzi, how is your girl? I would have agreed with Tanya and JeanSW and rushed her in with worries of pyo, hope she is ok. x

She was scanned blood tested and had her temp taken,it was quite high but thankfully not pyo and blood test showed slight anemia but nothing to be too concerned about.She is also definately pregnant so delighted about that.She is on antibiotics and the vet said they were safe for her to take and with such a high temp it was too risky not to so hoping to see an improvement soon.

Really pleased it wasn't pyo, phew! Wishing her a full recovery Kenzi, and congratulations on her being in whelp.
