I have been researching information off the internet about the Dachshund as I would like to own one as a house pet (not for breeding). I wondered if anyone could provide me with more information on this breed, e.g. is a dog or bitch more suitable as a pet?, do they mix/settle well with other animals?, are they easily house trained and do they respond well to dog training classes?, approx how much would a Dachshund puppie cost?, are there any reputable breeders in the North West?, can anyone recommend a book about this breed?. Any information would be much appreciated.
