I think that is what the WFT is now thinking LOL.  After weeks of her waking us up with loud barking around 4am  and disturbing the other dogs who sleep in the kitchen (as did she) we decided to see how she was if we allowed her to sleep in our bedroom.  Mind  you it has nearly put my 2 elderly cats (who sleep in our room) into therapy:red:  This has come about partly due to the fact that my sister (not particularly a dog lover!) is coming to stay soon and I didn't think she and her husband would appreciate the early morning squawking from Madam.

Of course putting her bed in our room and sticking her in it was quite fruitless as after the first night she leapt on our bed and snuggled down.  Well it is not ideal but we are now getting a full night's sleep.  At least the other 3 are getting their full quota of beauty sleep as well, in the kitchen.  But I do feel mean all the same!

Why do I feel she has won the battle .......:confused:

she leapt on our bed and snuggled down.

Could you not put her in a crate in your bedroom (before she gets too much thinking its her bed) ?

Thinking on to when she is in season............will you really want her in/on your bed then?

All my dogs have slept on and in the bed, Daisy sleeps under the duvet with her head on the pillow

We have 3 Malinois on vetbeds on the floor in the bedroom, the fourth (the puppy) takes his vetbed and sleeps UNDER the bed, and then one Papillon sleeps on the bed. She's spayed now but before she was it was a simple case of using biych pants when in season.

Mine is crated in the bedroom - just seems like the most logical answer to having her in the room but not on our personal bed. Surely there are times when a dog on the bed isn't convenient  (wink) Great for in season too.

Since the day we bought her home she has had a cuddle on our bed followed by a night night biscuit (a mini bonio) in her crate, shut in - quiet as a mouse until let out in the morning :) Now she hardly bothers with cuddles on our bed and goes straight to her crate for her biscuit and sleep!

Well it's not the first time I must say,  our Westie always used to sleep in our room but in her bed,  she died at 13 a couple of years ago.

Do agree though - Madam is so smelly when in season that she would most certainly NOT be welcome in the bed .......

Guilty but she is only little! She was in a crate initially then a bed now she is on my bed ! I am such a pushover.

Thankfully I have a super king size bed, when I had three dogs it could accommodate two Staffies and a TM quite comfortably.

I find the cats are more likely to disturb my sleep than dogs, Mungo is fond of " getting jiggy wid it " with Savannah in the middle of the night, resulting in her kicking his arse all around the bedroom ( both are neutered btw).

It is not your bed, it is the dog's bed and you are allowed to sleep in it !!!!

Not in this house  The furniture is for humans - being allowed on it is a privilege for the dog(s) earned by good behaviour and understanding the rules of it's use :smile:

All of my dogs have eventually ended up sleeping on my bed. Nugget started in his bed on the floor, but once he realised he was big enough to jump up on the bed, this is where he's stayed every night since.
Mind you, I haven't had a full night sleep since he arrived 3mths ago, as he's a wriggle worm  I'm hoping he'll one day be still all night! It doesnt help matters in that he sleeps in between me and hubby under the quilt and shares my pillow with me, Oi oi oi!!

Yep ! My two sleep on the bed, if they had their way, I'd be on the floor lol.
- By mixedpack [gb] Date 12.04.18 07:58 UTC
No, it used to happen but the dogs like to lie with their backs to me and their pointy feet sticking into my OH so that was not a recipe for a happy life!
