Has anyone tried Barkbusters
My name is Vicky and I have a lovely male Bullmastiff called Tango, he is 10 months old and we have been to
training classes he is very well socialised, does all the comands at training classes he is the model pupil
but out in the field he has his deaf ears on and he will not respond to any thing I say.
He also loves to eat everything he can get hold of ie: socks, cutlery, oven gloves, dish cloths and once five pairs of childrens pants
which he teased out of the washing basket and also 1lb of carrots and a pair of rubber gloves.
I've been on the Barkbusters website and wondered if anyone had any success stories with them

Vicky welcome to the world of bullmastiffs .
This is how most baby bullies behave but they will calm down when they are older .
Bullmastiffs do not do obedience , as they see no point to it once they have done it thats it .I dont think i ever saw a bully in obedience . but they are obedient later on as an adult as long as they are not expected to perform
However they are such loyal and instinctively protective dogs they make up for any little misdemeaners like eating the tyre off a jeep

From what I understand BARKBUSTERS is a franchise,
much better I think to go to a dog behaviourist who studied dog behaviour because they were interested and not so that they could set up a business.
Better to listen to people with experience in your breed about training they are the ones`wearing the T shirt`you know the saying `been there done that.......
it is never truer than when you are talking dog.

I saw a Barkbusters bloke on TV, and lets just say I was way, way less than impressed. He was very rough with a Goldie pup and also seemed a bit dim, and - well, I could go on!!!
I wouldn't let any of 'em near my dog :(

Thanks for your replys, any ideas on how to get him to come back when called. I know he's only young but when you have got
8 stone of puppy hurtling towards somebody and he doesnt respond to your call it can be a bit worrying.

I've tried barkbusters! personaly I think its a waste of money, very expensive, and didn't work for me.
The lady that came to me was very nice and could get my puppy to do more for her than I could get her to do but within an hour or so after her leaving, we were back to square one.

My friend has got a lab/german shepherd X, who was running up to strangers and growling at them. Barkbusters charged £175 to tell my friend she had to be the dominant one and said she should 'growl' at the dog. That was it! I would say a waste of money!
