Hi everyone,
We arrived home two hours ago with Murphy!!:)
At the moment he's fast asleep in his crate having eaten his dinner - with no problems (he is a lab:))
I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am. He's got such a lovely nature that's evident already and being pup no 2, we can see quite major differences in his behaviour and Sonny's. He doesn't jump up and nip but licks your hands and face if you let him! His tail is always wagging and he hasn't wee'd all over the place!
Sonny used to do the complete opposite of all of those, I'm amazed at the difference.
We came home with his puppy pack, pedigree and a photo of his mum.
I'm sure there will be many happy days ahead:D:D
A very happy Ruth :D

im so pleased for you ruth, also now that youve seen both sides of "BREEDERS'!!! im sure you'll realise why some of us bang away trying to make sure everyone buys from RESPONSIBLE BREEDERS!!! that health test-kc register and rear as best they can, and have standards, -----as opposed to those that just "BREED" :(

Congratulations Ruth! Sounds as though you've found a knowledgable breeder this time. Makes a difference, doesn't it??? I always say that nice families deserve a nice dog. Such a shame that some folk have to experience the other sort. Enjoy your new family member!

Thanks everyone for your good wishes!
He really is a little gem - sleeping lots and has eaten really well today. I'm keeping him exactly to what he's been having as I don't want him to experience too many changes too soon.
Will keep you all up to date

Hi there,
Murphy's great and after a horrendous first night, he was really much better last night and waited until 6.45am before he really started to howl:)
He's eaten all of his meals and most of the pattern off the bowl:) and had no upset tummy - seems strange after Sonny who had the runs from day one and wouldn't eat! But as I've said before - I can see a big difference in the two dogs.
Murphy is eight weeks old and I've got a freezer full of chicken wings, etc:) Any tips on how to introduce them? I know that some just change over but he's doing so well on his Oscars that I might still incorporate that into his diet at some point. I'm reluctant to upset the apple cart - and Murphy's tummy!!

Congratulations on your new baby! :)
If he is doing well on the Oscars could you not leave him on it? I am a great beliver if it ain't broke don't fix it! If you still want to change I would leave until he is well settled in and then do it slowley.
Tracy & Bailey (The now 14mth Looney Lab who was once a cute bundle of fluff! :D )
PS What colour is Murphy? I am sure you have posted it but I missed it!

Hi Tracey,
Murphy is a lovely, shiny black lab with blue eyes:)
I'll leave him on what he's on for now......Looks like we'll be having lots of chicken wing soup!:)

Hi all,
Murphy's first night went pretty much as expected. he wouldn't settle at all in his crate so I left the door open and he settled really well - until 4am!! Then I just had to get up - the noise was heartbreaking!
In the end he fell asleep curled up again my foot when I was sitting in the lounge:)
Stay tuned for further updates:)

Hi Lel,
The situation with Sonny was very strange. You may recall that a couple of weeks after we took Sonny to Blue Cross, I was told that he had very severe ear mites which had caused his agreesive behaviour (this is what the people who had wanted Sonny were told). This seemd very strange because Sonny had shown no signs of ear mites, i.e. smelly ears, scratching, etc. So I phoned BC to ask what had happened to Sonny and was told that he was going to his new home that day. I asked about his health and was told again that he was in perfect condition, no mites or anyhting??!!
My feeling is that someone had seen Sonny and decided that they wanted him - it was one of the BC workers that had him!
We've put all of that behind us now - we just hope that Sonny is happy and well cared for.
Thanks again everyone for the support during that time - I really appreciated all the members of CD:)
Ruth
