Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Open show query
- By Ghost [gb] Date 23.01.15 11:57 UTC
Me again with a couple of queries.
Firstly - I have entered an open show via fosse data for this Sunday - I went online today to print the passes/catelogue ticket but there is nothing showing to print - is this always the case with Open shows ? do you just turn up? or should something have arrived in the post ?

Secondly - My fosse account is in just my name (I signed up ages ago) so on each of my show entries the owner details have been coming up with just my name - my pup is registered with the KC owned by Mr and Mrs - will the show entries being in my name only be a problem if I were ever lucky enough to try to claim Junior warrant points against these entries ? (I have now rectified my name on Fosse)

Jeez - this is too much effort!

Technically if there are any errors on an entry form then any wins can be taken away.

So if you have been showing your dog in just your name and she is registered in dual names then all that ahs gone before can be disqualified.

It is why it is important to check the catalogue at shows and get any mistakes sorted.  it is this sort of thing that results in dogs CC's being taken away etc.

Oh dear :-(
Is it something I can get the Show secretaries to sort out perhaps at the actual show if the entry deadlines have closed ?

No you don't get anything in the post or to print out for open shows, you turn up, go to the secretary's table and give your name to get the catalogue, and your numbers will either be clipped to the catalogue or you collect them when you go in the ring, just tell the steward what number you are.

Thanks

Really worried now that my previous wins were in my name only :-(

You let the secretary know of any errors so they can be noted, this may include the owner details spelling mistakes in your or dogs name etc.

Unless previous wins were important ones like qualifying for stud book number etc just forget it and make sure things are correct in future.  If a win did quality for something important I'd suggest writing into the kennel Club explaining.

A friend of mien due to moving house ahs been showing her dog for three years which she had never transferred into her name from the breeder.  When he won a stud book qualifying award the Kennel Club were quite good and sorted it out for her, and she kept the award.

One if the wins qualified me
For crufts in a MP class :-(
However luckily for me I have spoken to the secretary at that show who has been wonderful and is correcting my error.
Faith in humanity restored ;-)
Thank you all
For your advice - at least I can stop frisking the postman now for my open show passes!

If my 6 month old is entered in junior at an open show would she be best puppy if the only minor puppy? So do we count all dogs under a year? Or under 9 months?

Bets Puppy is awarded to any dog under 12 months old, from any class, that hasn't been beaten by another dog under 12 months old. If your 6 month puppy is beaten in Junior by a dog over 12 months (but under 18 months) then your girl could still be best puppy.

To be picky for one day shows it is from 6 months up to and including the dog's first birthday.
