Any help would be appreciated. Would you test again the next day and maybe go the day after 2nd test.

I have used this method before. Im sure Jo Flatcoats does too. From what I remember, once you have seen "ferning" I wouldn't test again, just go for the mating once seen.

In your position I would not rely on this method.
If it is a valuable resource, I imagine you'd need to be slightly experienced in assessing the results before you'd use it in earnest.

Better to rely on blood testing or an experienced stud dog for a better chance to get the correct day.

Thankyou for your replies. Tooolz I'm not just doing this on it's own. Just doing along side as it fascinates me and want to learn more about this technique. Thanks again much appreciated for your input.

I used it with my girl some years back, it was hard work to get a decent amount of saliva, but I did mate when I saw the ferning, as well as blood testing, and we did get puppies. I also used it on whatever day AFTER the mating it said, apparently if you get ferning then (can't remember when) it's a good indicator of pregnancy. Have lost the Mate Test device in the intervening years though and I have a vague idea they don't make them anymore. :-(
