Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / phantom following op

Can anyone help with this problem.
Last week I had 3 lumps removed from my 8 year old bitch. Two were mammary and one was on her knee.
From the moment I brought her home she has gone straight into a full blown phantom. She squeaks, guards her bed with her toys in and seems to have decided that several latex toys are her babies. Sometimes she will not eat and so I am having to offer her more tempting food. She is normally a really good eater.
She 3 litters when she was younger the last 2 years ago and I never had an ounce of a problem with her with any of them.
I did not have her spayed following discussion with my vet and he cannot understand why she is behaving in this way saying we have not taken anything away from her.
I have 5 dogs that have always jogged along and now I am having to be really aware of their behaviour together because if any of the others get near her bed she is growling really aggressively at them. I am at a loss to know how to deal with it and how long it might go on for. She was last in season around 3 months ago and until I took her in for the op she was in great shape apart from the lumps I had observed.
