Hi I was wondering if anyone who has imported dogs could advise me. One of my Pomeranians was born in Russia & lived in Lithuania until she was old enough to come to the UK. She has a tattoo on her stomach & microchip . I was just wondering how I go about adding the tattoo / chip to a database here, as if she was ever to go missing my contact details wouldn't be linked to her.
The receptionists at my vet didn't seem to know? Can anyone help, thanks :)

Contact petlog you can register details with them think there is a small fee.

When my boy came in from Hungary I contacted Petlog they changed it for nothing that was 4 yrs ago so not sure if they charge now but it was very easy.

Thanks will contact them tomorrow. Will they be able to put her tattoo into my name also? Have never had a dog with a tattoo before so not sure how that works.

When you fill in the form to KC register an import you add the chip number and they transfer it to your details then. You can add a tattoo number to the KC registration as well, you can even do that in your MyKC account.

I just phoned Petlog and gave them my pets´  passport numbers and microchip numbers.  Oh, sorry, I also had to give details of the people/charity I adopted the animal from.  There was a £15 fee for each I believe.  This was only a couple of months ago when I adopted a rescue kitten from Spain.  My other pets were already registered so my own details were on record. 

I'd contact the NDTR and see if they will register the tattoo.

They probably will! They offered to register the tattoo that one of mine (rescue) has, but as it's on her inner thigh and covered with hair, and entirely missable, I decided not to.
