The word on fb is that the entries were extended till today, most people thought 12md, but were suddenly closed at 8am this morning. Lots of unhappy people unable to enter last minute.
The Highams website showed last night that Manchester entries did not close until today. I went to enter at 10a.m. and online entries were not available. I sent an email to them to enquire why they took it off early but no reply.
why have people left it SO LATE to enter?it was shut ONLINE 3 weeks ago and 4 weeks by post HOW long do exhibitors expect entries to stay open for?

Exactly my thoughts too. Why leave it so late?
"HOW long do exhibitors expect entries to stay open for?"
I think it's reasonable to expect entries to remain open until the exact closing time and date stated by the online entry system. Also it's reasonable for people to wait as long as possible to enter, or put in an extra entry, depending on the expected condition of their dog on the show date. Maybe the state of it's coat for showing or knowing if a bitch might be able to be shown due to its season date.
But 3/4 WEEKS late surely you'd know by then? we all have shall i? or shan't i? you just have to MAKE YOUR MIND UP I bet crufts wont give this option!!!!!

Was reading that is wa the sectrary of the society asked for it to be closed early. Surely if they extend the online entries and they always have a closing time of midday on Higham that they abide by this, to change this without warning doesn't say much for them of the society IMO.
Whatever the reasons are for leaving it to the last minute is not the point, the point being if you advertise something and then change the goalposts without warning shows how unprofessional this matter is.

I don't think anyone can complain if they haven't closed before the originally advertised on-line closing date on schedules.
Personally I would like all shows to close no more than 4 weeks by post and 3 weeks on-line before the shows, that would help out with the in season bitch/coat issue.

Also with Xmas and juggling finances it can be quite helpful.
