Hello everyone,

I have for the first time ever bought a dog from a Rescue Centre, rather than buy a puppie. A few weeks ago myself and my partner bought a beautiful rescue Lurcher boy 2 years old, Sam, Greyhound x Collie. From an amazing RSPCA Animal Centre in Swansea, where the workers, both professional and volunteers do a remarkable job under tough circumstances. Sam, has settled well into my household of 2 myself and my partner and he is a joy to have around. Just wanted to say hi and join a doggie friendly group! :)

I'm guessing you got Sam from Llys Nini and I agree they do a fantastic job as their support from the RSPCA does not extend as far as funding. You've found your way to the best dog forum there is, no frills or 'fluffy' answers, just fantastic support from people who freely give their knowledge and advice to those who ask.

Lurchers are lovely dogs.  As time goes by you´ll love him even more.  Good on you for getting a rescue.  They need all the help they can get (dogs and rescue centres!)

Thank you for the warm welcome dog friends. Purchasing a dog that neads a new home has been the best feeling in the world, to see Sammy so happy with us makes our decision all the more satisfying. Llys Nini, Swansea do indeed do a marvelous job. We are from Aberystwyth, so Sam is down the Sunny beaches of Borth and Ynyslas most days...he is a lucky lad! :)
