So sorry you lost your special girl. She was lucky to have you to love her unconditionally, many others would have dumped her without a second thought. I think the more complicated characters can make a bigger impact on our lives as we have to adjust our lives to keep them happy and stress free.

Wow she sounds like a carbon copy of a dog my friend Sue Cook owned called Rambo, same colouring and background.

>And if I ever want another badly bred dog, there are a lot of them rotting away in rescues, there is just no need to line the pockets of thoughtless breeders.<br />

Agree totally.

Sadly the majority fo dogs are bred that way.

It is why GOOD BREEDING is part of the solution not the problem.

Surely the dogs and their owners deserve better.

I am so sad for you. It's terrible at the best of times but this time of year seems particularly tough. My first dog was tiny and poorly bred - which caused her health problems so I empathise

Jess, I had tears running down my face when reading your first post, and I knew that you'd lost Chilli already.  Gosh I'm in bits now after reading through the rest of the posts.  What a fantastic life she has had we you, she really wouldn't have wanted to have been anywhere else, other than at home with you.  Hang on to those special memories, thinking of you all xxx

Lunamoona,

You are so spot on about the complicated ones. I never considered myself a dog lover until I met my last one.

Every time I read one of your posts and see your tribute at the end it brings tears.

So sorry Jess, but you did the right thing by your lovely girl. Hardest decision we have to make.  I know how you are feeling, but it will get easier with time. Give the other dogs a big hug and just think of all the happy times. She taught you lots and you helped her and gave her a good life.
The photo of her with the rainbow behind is just beautiful.
Sending you a {hug}.
