I had entered to go to Manchester but, unfortunately, my father-in-law passed away yesterday.  The funeral has been arranged for the same day.  Although of course I would always put family first, are there any circumstances whereby a show committee would refund an entry fee?

I don't think so. You are not even guaranteed a refund if a show is cancelled. If there is a judge change you can withdraw but again no refund.

Contact them although I'd imagine they might ask for proof?  And I'd kind-of think you are really out of luck.  Sorry for your loss, at a 'rotten' time of the year, for this kind of thing.

I think I saw something in the Manchester schedule about refunds.  It has to be done before the show.
