Hi all
Going to Crufts this year with my young dog, we are not on until the afternoon and i want him to get some rest. Last time I saw some people with attachments to make the bench like a crate, where can these be gotten? My guy is very hyper at the best of times so could be worn out by 1pm if he's sitting there all day paying attention to people passing, dogs, etc and getting pats!

Bench guard from Croft is what I have, they work well unless you dog is likely to try and escape. Get a branching chain too for him

That looks perfect but is there any cheaper ones? We don't have benching in my country so I just want to use it once.

I've net seen any cheaper or pre owned one's on eday. If it's just for crufts I wouldn't bother, just sit in frount of your bench. Alot of people walk around the benchs to look but many know not to touch the dogs, the KC had it written in the booklet they were giving out one year. I've been stopped and asked questions while walking around with my girl but no one came up to use while sitting on the bench.
Could you not bring his cage if possible there are a lot of dogs caged in a lot of breeds

I don't use a crate normally but I might bring my fold up one, cheaper than that anyway though the product does look good! :)
It is what I do my bench size takes a double corgi cage mum and daughter share leaving a spare for trolley and bags, and the dogs settled down straight away given water then have nap while I get stuff removed from aisle and sorted, table goes in front of empty bench or it an end bench on the end.
Then comfort break for me and breakfast before grooming starts.
My dogs hate being on benching chains and panic as they are use to being created one thought is I always carry a padlock if required for cage doors, I padlock side door as standard and depending who is next to me sometimes the front door for security.
One year Joe public was opening cage doors on our benching to let their little darlings stroke the dogs it was stopped immediately but I show alone and will not take chances with my dogs if I am besides someone I do not know

I have a large breed so bringing the crate is possible but not ideal. I wonder is there any way to home make a bench guard, i will be with my dog at all times but i know him well enough to know he won't rest unless there is some form of boundary which rules out all chances of getting up and having playtime ;)

you genius! thank you! as i won't be leaving him at all something like that stuck on front with me sitting in front again would be enough for him to now it's time to relax instead of waiting to go somewhere all day. thanks!!
