I would like peoples views on this, my friend and I have been asked if we want to rehome a little bitch frenchie. She was picked up by the dog warden and the owner cant afford the fees to get her back. I felt sorry for him at first but turns out he got the bitch from a breeder and she has had 3 c sections in 3 years and the most awful ear condition which is likely to lead to an op to remove the ear canals and will need to be done at newmarket which is likely to run in to thousands. She has been to the vets a couple of times but not enough to have had proper treatment and she hasnt been spayed. I love frenchies but have 4 dogs and cant really take in another at the moment. My friend does however have a staffie that isnt dog friendly but has however lived with two bitches but does take a while to settle and likes to be boss. If it really doesnt work out she will be coming to me. Do these operations work and is it likely to be a cure and do you think we are mad taking her on when she needs such drastic and expensive surgery. The alternative is that she would be destroyed by the council.
French bulldog saviours will go and get this girl and pay release fee and will more likely pay any resulting vets fees. No need for her to be PTS hang on ill direct relevant authorities :-)
we are the french bulldog saviours lol
we both love the breed and I really want this little girl but my friend had 3 staffs at the beginning of the year and now is down to one so her need is greater than mine as I have four dogs. I am so jealous have even looked into getting a little frenchman puppy but will wait to see if my friends staff will accept the little bitch from the dog warden.
Your part of the charity?

Are you able to cover the cost of this?
It'll prob go on a credit card

If I was you I'd contact the charity Louise suggested, that way there is rescue backup for the life of the dog. Rescues are generally overflowing and happy for any help so your friend could maybe offer to foster her meantime, which would mean they would pay vet bills and you'd find out more about her nature and whether the staffy accepts her or not. I'd imagine they'd want to homecheck her but be grateful of the help.
My friend has her and all seems well in regard to Big Ted (her staffy). She is adorable but her ears are completely blocked so she is deaf. Waiting for vet to ring to discuss the referral to newmarket.
